How The High Street Digital collects, uses and protects your personal information.
Last updated: 13 September 2026
1. Who we are
The High Street Digital is a UK web design and digital services business based in Chester, working with businesses across the United Kingdom. We operate as an unincorporated business (a sole trader style operation, not a limited company).
You can contact us about anything in this policy by email at Founder@TheHighStreetDigital.Uk or by phone on +44 7301 543514.
2. The information we collect
We only collect information that we genuinely need to run the business. Depending on how you interact with us, this can include:
- Your name, email address and telephone or mobile number when you contact us or fill in an enquiry, contact or client request form.
- Information about your business and your website or project that you choose to share with us, including when you ask for a quote, preview or new website.
- Details of our communications with you, such as emails, messages and call notes.
- Information needed to provide our services, manage the client relationship, and handle billing or subscriptions where these apply.
- Website usage information collected through analytics tools and cookies (see sections 4 and 5).
3. Contact, enquiry and client request forms
When you submit a form on this website — for example a contact form, an enquiry or a client request — we use the details you provide to respond to you, prepare a proposal, deliver the work you've asked for and manage the project. We don't use your enquiry details for unrelated purposes, and we don't sell your information to anyone.
4. Website analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use this website — for example which pages are visited, how long people spend on the site and how they found us. This helps us improve the website. Analytics data is collected in aggregate and is used to understand trends, not to identify individual visitors.
Google Analytics is only loaded with your consent, given through the cookie preferences control on this website. You can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
This website uses cookies and similar technologies. Some are needed for the website to function; others, such as analytics cookies, are optional and only used with your consent. You can manage your preferences at any time via the cookie preferences control in the website footer.
6. AI Receptionist services
Where a client uses our AI Receptionist service, we process the information needed to set up and run that service — for example business information the client supplies or approves (services, opening hours, frequently asked questions), account details, and operational data generated when the service is used, such as call summaries, transcripts, usage information and caller details captured during calls handled for that client.
For AI Receptionist clients, we act on their instructions to provide the service. Callers to a client's AI receptionist should refer to that client's own privacy information for how their details are used by the client's business.
7. Third-party service providers
We use a small number of trusted third-party services to operate the business — for example website hosting, analytics, email, payment processing (for subscriptions and billing, where applicable) and the technical providers used to deliver the AI Receptionist service. These providers only process personal information on our instructions and for the purpose of providing their service to us.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing.
8. How we use your information and our legal bases
Under UK data protection law we must have a lawful basis for using personal information. We rely on:
- Contract — to provide the services you've asked for, manage your account and handle billing.
- Legitimate interests — to respond to enquiries, run and improve the business, and keep appropriate records.
- Consent — for optional cookies and analytics, which you can withdraw at any time.
- Legal obligation — where we need to keep records for tax or accounting purposes.
9. Data security
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to keep personal information safe, including access controls on the systems we use and limiting access to those who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and will act promptly if something goes wrong.
10. How long we keep information
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it: for the duration of an enquiry or client relationship, and afterwards for the period needed to meet accounting, tax and legal record-keeping requirements or to resolve any disputes. When information is no longer needed, it is deleted or anonymised.
11. Your rights
You have rights over your personal information under UK data protection law, including the right to:
- Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you (access).
- Ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete.
- Ask us to delete your information in certain circumstances.
- Object to or restrict certain uses of your information.
- Withdraw consent where we rely on consent (such as analytics cookies).
- Request a portable copy of information you've provided, where applicable.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at Founder@TheHighStreetDigital.Uk. We will respond as soon as we reasonably can, and within the timescales required by law.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time — for example if our services or the law change. The latest version will always be published on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
13. Contact
Questions about this policy or your personal information: email Founder@TheHighStreetDigital.Uk, call +44 7301 543514, or write to us via the contact page on this website.
